Jon Greenberg’s first pick is Miami (Ohio) hosting UNLV at Yager Stadium. UNLV’s off to a 3-0 start, but they’re only 2.5-point favorites over the 0-2 Redhawks, which feels odd.
Betting Strategy
Greenberg says skip the spread and look at the under 49.5. He thinks UNLV’s time zone change will drag down the scoring, so the under seems safer.
Oregon Civil War: Ducks vs. Beavers
The Civil War in Oregon is back. The Ducks look great, while the Beavers are having a rough go.
Greenberg expects a lot of points here and likes the over 55.5. It’s hard to argue with that logic.
Big Ten Matchup: Michigan vs. Nebraska
Michigan comes in as a 2.5-point favorite against Nebraska. Greenberg isn’t sure which side to take, but Zac Jackson has some thoughts.
Jackson’s Take
Jackson’s wary of this one. He gets why the line leans Michigan, especially since Nebraska’s Dylan Raiola still hasn’t proved much against real competition.
State of Ohio vs. State of Florida: Kent State at FSU
Kent State, fresh off a tough loss, faces Florida State next. FSU’s had extra rest, which can’t hurt.
Jackson’s Pick
Jackson’s a bit shocked by the line and grabs the Seminoles at -45.5. He’s expecting Florida State to roll here.
ACC Showdown: North Carolina vs. UCF
Jackson also takes a stab at North Carolina vs. UCF. He’s on North Carolina at +7, mostly because he trusts Bill Belichick over Scott Frost in a coaching battle.
Duke vs. N.C. State
Jackson likes Duke at -3.5 against N.C. State. Duke’s put money into the program and their offense can move the ball.
Big Ten Late-Night Game: USC vs. Michigan State
USC versus Michigan State should be a shootout. Jackson’s on the over 56.5, pointing to Michigan State’s rough defense and USC’s firepower.
NFL Insights: Cowboys vs. Bears
Switching to the NFL, Greenberg looks at Cowboys vs. Bears. Most folks on BetMGM like the Cowboys, but Greenberg’s eyeing the over 50.5 for a high-scoring tilt.
Bengals vs. Vikings
Greenberg goes against the grain and takes the Vikings at -3 at home. He thinks new running back Jordan Mason will have a breakout game.
Underdog Pick: Titans vs. Colts
Jackson and Greenberg both land on the Titans at +3.5 against the Colts. Maybe it’s a risky pick, but they see Tennessee covering.
Play of the Month: Green Bay vs. Cleveland
Jackson’s play of the month is Green Bay vs. Cleveland. He’s on the under 41.5, since both defenses are tough and the offenses aren’t exactly clicking.
Jets vs. Buccaneers
Jackson also likes the Jets at +7 against Tampa Bay. He points to the Bucs’ banged-up offensive line and a short week as reasons to fade them.
Monday Night Football: Ravens vs. Chiefs
For Monday night, Jackson’s taking the over 52.5 in Ravens vs. Chiefs. He’s expecting a bit of a shootout.
