Lewis-Clark State women’s basketball stormed into the season with a statement win over Dickinson State, crushing them 98-58 at the P1FCU Activity Center. Darian Herring posted a triple-double, while Sitara Byrd dazzled with her scoring.

The men’s basketball team had a rough opener against Arizona Christian. Women’s soccer fought hard and ended up drawing against Northern Colorado.

Lewis-Clark State women’s basketball started their season with a blowout win over Dickinson State. That 98-58 final really underscored just how sharp they looked on both ends of the court.

Men’s Basketball: A Tough Opener Against Arizona Christian

The men’s team had a tough assignment right out of the gate, facing Arizona Christian—ranked No. 2 in the NAIA preseason poll. Despite battling, the Warriors dropped the opener 79-61.

Nakagawa dropped the first set but rallied to win it 2-6, 6-3, 7-6 (1). That kind of grit isn’t easy to teach.

Chisato Kanemaki ran into a tough opponent and lost in straight sets.

Three Lewis-Clark State runners hit the course at the Sasquatch Invite. Dawson Welliver led the way, finishing 46th in the 8K.

The meet gave the Warriors some valuable reps as they get ready for the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge.

Individual Performances

Welliver clocked in at 30:23.5. Jace Joslyn followed in 49th at 31:34.3, and Christian Lybyer came in 50th with a 31:47.9.
