Gophers Women’s Hockey Stars Compete in Summer International Events

The Golden Gopher women’s hockey team is gearing up for a big summer on the international stage. Fourteen players from the University of Minnesota will represent their countries in several competitions, including the 2025 Collegiate Series between the United States and Canada and the 2025–26 Women’s Euro Hockey Tour.

Seven Gophers made Team USA, while three will skate for Team Canada. That’s a pretty strong showing. Four more will compete in the Women’s Euro Hockey Tour, representing Czechia, Finland, and Sweden.

Golden Gophers Shine in the 2025 Collegiate Series

The 2025 Collegiate Series between the U.S. and Canada is shaping up to be a must-watch event. It’ll be held at the historic 1980 Rink in Lake Placid, N.Y.—a place that’s practically dripping with hockey history.

The Gophers will be front and center, with seven players chosen for the U.S. Collegiate Women’s Select Team.

Game Schedule and Key Matchups

The U.S. and Canada will play a three-game series that should be tight and full of energy. Game one is August 13 at 4:30 p.m. CT, followed by August 14 at 1:30 p.m. CT, with the final matchup on August 16 at 4:30 p.m. CT.

Both squads mix veterans and up-and-comers, so expect some fireworks. These games will give us a real look at the future of women’s hockey.

Tour Schedule and Locations

The Women’s Euro Hockey Tour will hit three countries, giving players a mix of environments and challenges. The tour starts in Kloten, Switzerland, from August 28–30, moves to Ängelholm, Sweden, from November 5–8, and wraps up in Tampere, Finland, from December 11–15.
