Brady Ambro Named Baruch Women’s Volleyball Head Coach

The Baruch College Athletic Department just announced that Brady Ambro will step up as Head Coach of the Women’s Volleyball program. Ambro, an alum of Baruch, already proved his dedication and leadership as Head Coach of the Men’s Volleyball team.

Now, he’s bringing that same energy and experience to the women’s team. Ambro wants to build a culture where players grow on and off the court—he’s aiming high.

Brady Ambro: A Legacy of Excellence

Ambro’s story at Baruch started back in 2013, when he joined the Bearcats as a student-athlete. As an outside hitter, he helped the team snag three CUNYAC titles and made three NCAA Tournament appearances—including that wild Final Four run in 2013.

He picked up plenty of honors, too. Ambro served as Team Captain, won the 2016 Team MVP, took home the Baruch College Helen Belden Sportsmanship Award, and grabbed a First Team All-CUNYAC spot in 2016.

Transition from Player to Coach

After earning his psychology degree, Ambro moved right into coaching. He worked as an assistant coach for the Baruch men’s volleyball team in 2017 and 2018.

He didn’t stop there—Ambro added more coaching experience at the college level and really sharpened his understanding of the game. That shift from player to coach gave him a rare perspective, and he gets what his athletes go through.

Recent Success with the Men’s Volleyball Program

Ambro led the Men’s Volleyball team through a strong 2026 spring season. The Bearcats finished as runners-up in both the CUNYAC Championship and the ECAC Division III Regional Championship.
