Akron Women’s Soccer Shines with Six CSC Academic All-District Honors

Six University of Akron women’s soccer players just landed spots on the 2025 Academic All-District® women’s soccer team. College Sports Communicators picked these athletes for their standout achievements both on the soccer field and in the classroom.

We’re talking about seniors Kaylen Goddard and Emma King, junior teammates Lilly Touhey and Jordanne Oberhaus, plus sophomores Taylor Allen and Kaitlyn Rogowski. Their hard work really says a lot about the University of Akron’s women’s soccer program.

Honoring Academic and Athletic Excellence

The College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® program shines a spotlight on student-athletes who manage to excel both academically and athletically. This year, Akron saw six of its women’s soccer players make the cut.

Not only did these athletes show off their skills on the field, but they also kept up a GPA of at least 3.50 on a 4.0 scale. That takes some serious focus and determination.

Meet the Honorees

Kaylen Goddard and Emma King

Senior leaders Kaylen Goddard and Emma King have played huge roles in Akron’s women’s soccer success. Goddard comes from Mechanicsville, Md., while King is a local from Akron, Ohio.

Both have shown strong leadership and a real commitment to their sport and studies. Their example sets the bar high for everyone else.

Lilly Touhey and Jordanne Oberhaus

Juniors Lilly Touhey and Jordanne Oberhaus have also made their mark. Touhey hails from Fishers, Ind., and Oberhaus is from Wadsworth, Ohio.

They’ve managed to juggle demanding athletic schedules with academic expectations, which is no small feat. Their consistency stands out.

Taylor Allen and Kaitlyn Rogowski

Sophomores Taylor Allen and Kaitlyn Rogowski round out this impressive list. Allen is from Blacksburg, Va., and Rogowski comes from Hilliard, Ohio.

It’s pretty remarkable to see such promise and drive from them so early in their college careers. Getting recognized as Academic All-District® honorees speaks volumes about their potential.

Criteria for Selection

To get nominated for the CSC Academic All-District® team, student-athletes have to meet some tough standards. Here’s what’s required:

• Minimum GPA: At least a 3.50 cumulative on a 4.0 scale.
• Participation: Compete in 90 percent of the school’s games or start at least two-thirds of them.
• Role: Be a starter or an important reserve on the team.

Only those who really commit themselves both in class and on the field get this honor.

Advancing to the Academic All-America® Ballot

Making the Academic All-District® team is just step one. Now, these honorees move forward for consideration on the CSC Academic All-America® ballot.

First-, second-, and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on December 16, 2025. That’s a big date for these athletes to look forward to.
